Volunteers provide caring relationships, model positive behaviors and expose members to diverse cultures and experiences. By helping at the Clubs, you can build the resources Club kids need to succeed. You'll make a positive impact on a child's life, and you will benefit as well. Volunteer with BGCLC and gain new skills and experiences in the process. We will do our best to connect you with an opportunity that will match your availability, skills, and interests.

Individual Volunteer Categories

Regular Commitment
An ongoing volunteer is an individual who commits to volunteer on a regular basis for a fixed period of time. Examples include serving as an art or drama teacher, a tutor, a coach or the facilitator of a variety of programs for youth. This commitment generally requires one day a week for a fixed period of time.
All volunteers must complete a volunteer application before volunteering and pass a background check. A refundable deposit of $12 to cover the processing fee is due with your application. After 10 hours of service you may request to have the deposit reimbursed, or designate it as a donation. After passing the background check, you will be invited to a 2-part orientation program.
One-Time Commitment
There are countless ways to contribute through a one-time volunteer commitment. We need motivational speakers, judges for our Youth of the Year contest, help with special events, and a host of other activities.
Special Activity Commitment
Special activity volunteers make a commitment to our Club members for a specified duration to conduct a special activity. This is ideal for professionals who would like to volunteer regularly and build relationships with our youth but are not able to volunteer each week. Examples include a once- a- month commitment to teach a leadership course for our teens, teaching a hobby over the course of a few weeks, assisting with special events at the club or providing professional services such as architectural planning or landscaping.
Corporate and Group Volunteer Categories
We welcome volunteer groups from area businesses and other organizations. We can develop a "Community Volunteer Day" or similar program that enables your staff or group not only to serve the community but to build comradery and work as a team.
